About Web Hosting
Parallels Pro Control Panel (formerly known as Ensim Pro) provides basic Web Hosting features that offer full range of services to the sites you manage.
Note: For simplicity, we will refer to Parallels Pro Control Panel 10.3.1 for Windows 2003 as "Parallels Pro Control Panel" throughout this guide.
Parallels Pro Control Panel includes:
- IIS Web Service: provides easy methods to use and configure your Web site.
- IIS FTP Service: provides easy methods to use and configure your FTP site.
- Microsoft® FrontPage Server Extensions 2002: provides capability to configure your FrontPage Server Extensions.
- Scripting support like Perl, PHP, ASP, SHTML: allows you to enable or disable the script maps.
- ODBC Data Source Names (DSNs) for Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and MySQL (MyODBC): allows you to configure DSNs for database access.
- Web-based File Management: also known as File Manager. This utility is provided to remotely manage and set permissions for files and folders.
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition: the free, re-distributable version of SQL Server that supports SQL databases.
Note: Parallels Pro Control Panel also supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard and Enterprise editions. But they must be pre-installed on the Parallels Pro Control Panel server.
- MySQL: provides support for SQL databases.
- Webalizer: a free program that allows you to analyze Web server logs.
- Urchin® Web analytics software: allows you to configure the IIS Web Log Analyzer (Urchin).
- IMail mail server: provides mail services for a site.
- ColdFusion: provides ColdFusion support for a site.
- Power Tools: a collection of Web applications such as Gallery (a tool to create and maintain photo albums), PHPBB (a discussion board), WordPress (a news and Web log tool), DotNetNuke (a content management system), and Community Server (a knowledge management and collaboration platform).
