Interface conventions
WEBppliance has a standard interface with informational icons and progress messages to help you access features.
The WEBppliance interface has a navigation bar on the left, a site information area at the top, and a workspace window in the main section. You use the workspace window to complete most tasks.
WEBppliance uses informational icons and clickable icons:
Informational icons represent the status of an item, such as running or stopped , or the options available to you, such as FTP or Telnet . To quickly find out what the icon represents, hold your mouse or cursor over the icon to read the popup text or tool tips provided.
Clickable icons represent actions you can perform or commands you can execute, such as editing properties or deleting items . These icons are found in the Actions column of lists and forms. Click the icon to perform the action or command. As with Informational icons, you can hold your mouse or cursor over clickable icons to read the popup text or tool tips provided.
WEBppliance provides progress and status information about tasks it is performing or has completed. These messages are displayed in a status bar at the top of the workspace window. Information in the status bar includes:
Status. The state of the action: Successful, Failed, or Incomplete.
Result. A summary of what was changed, updated, or completed.
Details. A link to a brief description, analysis, or error message about the action. Click the link to view the information.
The Site Administrator home page provides shortcut links to common tasks.
To access a feature using the shortcut link, click the name of the feature you want, for example, click Add Users.
To access the Main Help system, click HELP on the System Menu at left, or, when you are a viewing a context-sensitive Help topic, click View Help Contents.
